Service Description: This GIS layer file represents the currently adopted 2020-2021 High School attendance zone boundaries under the jurisdiction of the Lake County School Board as provided for in District Policy Number 5.20 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZByXLH145T1HDVHCz1tOl_Wdp7miPo4J145cXhqphGk) establishing the creation of residential attendance zones for each school for student assignment purposes based on the geographic location of their home address or domicile as provided under this policy. The primary purpose of this GIS layer file is to assist District administrative staff, school staff, parents of students and the general public with determining the appropriate primary high school assignment accurate to an individual tax parcel or residential address for the use of attendance zone boundaries for general education students under the responsibility of the Lake County School District. Because of state and local educational choice options afforded under the controlled open enrollment process these zones may not apply to students who qualify and are not limited to special need students, magnet programs or students within special state funded programs.
