Description: This GIS layer information represents the current status for the Board approved (http://www.boarddocs.com/fla/lake/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=9KQKU750AED1) areas known as Parent Responsibility Zones (PRZ’s), Local Hazardous Conditions (LHC) and FDOE Hazardous Walking Conditions (HWC) for the 2014-2015 school year Elementary (Primary) Schools. Within these established areas the parents are responsible for finding a safe alternative for getting their child to and from their assigned school without the availability of District transportation being available. The respective zones for each school depict the provisions for the spatial extent of the approved Parent Responsibility Zone's (PRZ) as described under Chapter 8.31(1) -- Auxiliary Services -- Student Transportation of the School Board's policies. The primary purpose of this GIS layer is to assist the Transportation staff and parents with the location down to the individual parcel or address level the areas throughout the District where no student transportation is provided for general education students. These areas do not apply to special need students or students within special state funded programs.
